The Ritual:
- Light & Melt: Burn for 10–15 minutes until a pool of warm oil forms.
- Extinguish & Pause: Blow out the flame and let the oil cool for 2–3 minutes to reach a comfortable body temperature.

How to look after the candle:
- Trim the wick roughly 5mm, before each lighting to keep the flame steady, prevent soot and maintain a clean low burning temperature
- Always snuff or blow out the flame before handling the candle
- To clean the jug - wipe away any stray oil drips with a soft, dry cloth. Do not submerge or put in the dishwasher. Do not use abrasive scourers
- Do not remove the label as this could peal the paint off
- Once your candle is finished, wash the inside of your jug thouroughly with warm water and mild soap. Dry gently and refill your candle with one of our handy refills (due soon!).

1. How do I use the massage candle with the Kansa Body Stimulator?
Light the candle for 15–20 minutes to create a warm pool of melted oil. Extinguish the flame, pour a small amount of oil onto your palm or skin using the cool-touch handle, and smooth it over the body. Then, glide the bronze Kansa wand in long, firm strokes along limbs and circular motions over joints to stimulate circulation, release tension, and enhance absorption.
2. Is the warm candle oil safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. Our massage candle is formulated with a low-melt blend of natural plant butters and cold-pressed botanical oils (including shea, babassu, and coconut) infused with gentle Ayurvedic herbs. It melts at a comfortable temperature just above body heat, ensuring it deeply nourishes the skin without burning. We recommend a quick patch test before your first full ritual.
3. What is Kansa and why does it sometimes leave a grey residue?
Kansa is a sacred Ayurvedic metal alloy primarily composed of copper and tin. When massaged onto the skin, it works to balance acidity and draw out heat and impurities. Occasionally, an oil massage with Kansa creates a slight grey tint on the skin—this is a natural chemical reaction indicating the release of acidity and toxins. It washes off effortlessly with warm water and mild soap.
4. How do I clean and care for the items in the set?
- Kansa Tool: Wipe clean after each use with a dry cloth. Periodically clean with a few drops of tea tree oil or a paste of lemon juice and baking soda to restore its lustre. Avoid soaking in water.
- Mango Wood Tray: Wipe clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately to protect the natural grain.
- Candle Jug: Wipe any stray drips with a cloth. Once finished, wash the interior with warm soapy water to repurpose the hand-painted vessel.

The Restoring Massage Candle vessel has been specially selected for a few reasons. 1) It's made from stainless steel, which means it cools down quicker. 2) The handle is quite large and away from the main vessel - unlike many massage candles, holding the candle won't burn you.
Always wait 2-3 minutes after snuffing the flame out to reduce the risk of burning. Pour into your palms first.
